Hammerfest : update

We have the running order confirmed & this is what our stage looks like for the Saturday. We're on the 2nd stage of the 3 available & a great line-up has been put together :-

12-00 Rise To Remain
13-05 Fury UK
14-00 Shining
15-00 White Wizzard
16-20 Panic Cell
17-20 GU Medicine

After we've finished playing, we can watch the other bands do their stuff on our stage, leaving plenty of time for us to grab a beer & get ready for headliners Iced Earth over on main stage.

Hope you're looking forward to this as much as we are!

Cheers!

Swindon & Wizzfest : thank you!

What a bloody great time we had at these gigs. Great bunch of people at Swindon, headed up by David Young, the gaffer at the 12 Bar, who always looks after us so well & gets an awesome sound. Our labelmates Nightvision who played an outstanding set. Everyone in the crowd, especially The Touts who were front row as always \m/

Then we were on to Belgium for Wizzfest where we were treated royally by our host Wizz, his partner Caroline & son Adri. Amongst the many people who welcomed us so well we should mention of course the band Wizzard & crew, including Ivan, Bart, Steve. Also Ela who travelled from Germany to see us, Jolanda who travelled from Netherlands, Hamdy & all at Metal-on-rock - can't wait to see the video footage! Again, of course, Nightvision who did the business on stage & partied very capably with us afterwards! Great event, so well run, great fun & well-attended. Recommended!!!!

Video footage as mentioned above is to come, plus plenty of photos we think!

Upcoming shows / new material

Having had a blast at our shows so far this year, including last night in Manchester with labelmates Nightvision & our great friends Afterdown, we hit Nightvision's territory tonight in Boston, Lincolnshire (Axe & Cleaver) before returning North to Oldham, Lancashire (Whittles) tomorrow, again with Nightvision & also Afterdown.

Then on the 18th we go to Swindon (The 12 Bar) with Nightvision & locals The Love Rockets opening up, before we make our way across the channel to Belgium to play Wizzfest with our hosts Wizzard on the 20th. Nightvision play Wizzfest also, plus several other bands from UK & Europe. That Belgian beer is getting closer & closer!

We then have 3 weeks break to concentrate on further writing & rehearsing the new material ready for recording.

Meantime, we of course play Hammerfest II, appearing at one o'clock lunchtime on 2nd stage for a 40 minute set on the Saturday. The new song "I See Red" will again feature. So metalheads make sure you shake off those hangovers from Friday night & get up/down to see us on this one!

Later in March we spread our wings across the country again with shows in Newcastle (Trillians, 26th), Grimsby (Yardbirds Club, 27th) & London (Purple Turtle, Camden, 30th). Guest bands for these shows yet to be confirmed.

Huge thanks to all who've turned up in great numbers for the shows so far.

See ya out there!

February : mini-tour.

Big thanks to everyone at the 2 shows so far, it's been amazing to get back on the road after the past few weeks' break. We were "hungry" to get back playing again & think it showed! ....

.... last Friday at the Nag's Head, Macclesfield where we had our best ever gig at that venue, packed to the rafters & a cracking atmosphere. Horns-up especially to the stamina of the front row headbangers \m/ . Equal thanks to everyone at the Blaze Bayley gig at JB's, Dudley on Saturday. Fantastic to be invited to help set Blaze & their tour support Sinocence on their way with the first date of their "Promise & Terror" UK tour. Fantastic!

Upcoming we hit the road together with our excellent friends & label-mates Nightvision :-

Thu. 11th Feb : Manchester, Grand Central (opening band Afterdown)
Fri. 12th Feb : Boston, Axe & Cleaver
Sat. 13th Feb : Whittles, Oldham (opening band Afterdown)
Thu. 18th Feb : Swindon, The 12 Bar (opening band The Love Rockets)
Sat. 20th Feb : Belgium, Aalter, Flanders. "Wizzfest".

The Manchester & Oldham shows will be our only Greater Manchester/Lancashire shows for several months now.

For all upcoming shows see the gig listing as usual at our website www.furyuk.com

Looking forward to seeing you out there!!!!

Powerplay review of Hellfire Festival

From the latest Powerplay magazine (issue 117, Feb 2010) ....

"..Fury UK were the first real discovery of the festival. They had a remarkably full sound for a three piece, even during the explosive extended soloing.. I strongly suspect their take on classic rock will gain them plenty of admirers over the coming months. One to keep an eye on I'd say" (Chris Van Souwe)
